Take a step back to back against the wall where we fall,
Forward finding footsteps loud and creaking below our sighing-
The weight of the waiting- the worrying-
Where we stand to sit-
Take a fall, fill up your chest
Watch it sink
Against the wind we sing
We sing
Echoing empty our voices ring
Together we watched it sink in sands of time-
Lives lined with lies and light
Like temptation’s touch- too timid to feel
Frozen- a little left out or behind or both
I’m damaged- burnt at best, but beautiful enough to believe
I fall, pin it to your chest
Lock up
Shut down while wings grow
Floorboards break

Calm and kept clean of the

I harbored for you for years
To explain
